You just spent a bunch of money on a very nice trailer. You may feel safe after 3 trips but there may or should I say there Will come a time when you'll wish you had invested the extra money. You can't put a price on safety.

It's not the trailer that needs the anti-sway system. It's the tow vehicle. for years I towed a 27 foot TT with a Chevy 1/2 ton pickup and really needed something to keep the trailer from swaying when a semi passed us. Eventually we knew we were going to go fifth wheel so bought a Chevy C3500 duelly. We did pull the TT many times with the new truck before we found a fifth wheel and I continued to hook up the load leveling/sway system. That is until part of the anti-sway system cracked and I towed the TT a couple hundred miles just hooked to the hitch. You could have passed me at hundred miles per hour while driving an aircraft carrier and the trailer would not begin to budge that duelly! So the question remains: do you need a system? All depends on what your tow vehicle is.

That trailer weighs 6,800 - 8,800lbs so you need a wdh with most vehicles.
What are you driving and have you been towing without the wdh? Probably not a good idea with most vehicles.
So, if you will be towing with the wdh, why wouldn't you want the sway control?

Unless you are towing a small trailer with a long bed dually, I think a sway control system on any conventional upright trailer should be used.

I tow a Microlite with a 3/4 ton truck and use an Equal-i-zer hitch with sway control. Wouldn't tow without it.

Agreed to all, in addition to this, there are times/conditions that the sway control and WDH are relied upon too much, just remember with strong wind gusts slowing down is much more important.

I have a Flagstaff 30WRKSS, my tow vehicle is a Nissan Titan Double cab with the super tow package. I have two sway bars on this unit. The one thing you may notice and with shock you is the noise that comes from the friction bar system. You can adjust this, but if its not make noise it may be to loss. The sway bars and safety chains may also be required by law in some states.

if your WDH doesn't have built-in sway control, like the Equalizer or Reese Dual-Cam, why wouldn't you be willing to spend an extra $30 for your and our safety?

I have a Jayco 23FB that I tow with a 2010 F150 and I do not use an anti sway bar. The Ford comes with an anti sway control built in to the AdvanceTrac and it works great. I do use a WDH. So I guess it would depend on the tow vehicle.

you're right about it depending on the tow vehicle.
but since the OP didn't state what he's towing with, you have to go with an anti-sway device, since vehicles with what you have are still not very common.

The Ford AdvanceTrac is nice, but it is not going to correct all conditions. I would not pull a 26' trailer with a 1/2 ton truck without some type of additional sway control.
