Question dodge shortbed 5thwheel, 8288 and slider hitch?

Hello

We just ordered our first 5th wheel, being travel trailer veterans. Our 8288ss should be here in 6-8 weeks, and I would like to know if anyone knows if I need a slider hitch for our setup, or if there are any options to not having one.

I am thinking of getting a pullrite slider for it's automatic function.

Thanks for any suggestions

Allen

I would recommend a slider. I'm not familiar with the nose configuration of your fiver, but our Wildcat put a nice little ding in the pillar around the rear window of my Dodge......of course, I really shouldn't have been turning the way I was.....

I was ready to pay for the Autoglide when we ordered our fiver and the dealer talked me out of it, at least I have the Reese 16K slider......

I have the same 16K slider and I used mine twice and only needed it 1time . the first time was just to play with it . If you have a short bed get a slide when you need it YOU WILL BE THANKFULL you have it.

Allen,

What BUdfans said! 90% of the time I'm in a pull through site, or a back in that has lots and lots of room to make a wide backing turn. But its that other 10% that made me very happy that I got the 16K slider. It was worth the extra bucks.

Now you guys have me thinking about switching away from the B&W. I asked my dealer and he said the Pullrite 14k slider setup would cost an extra 700 bucks. I also have a short box quadcab dodge. The trailer has an extended king pin but that does not help near as much as the slider would.

Anyhow do I spend the extra and get the Pullrite slider or not?
