Dodge vs Chevy vs Ford

I know this has been asked a hundred times, but this is an ever changing task. Today, if you were to purchase a new tow vehicle, would it be a Dodge, Chevy or Ford, and why ??

I'm good with any of them, so it comes down to availability in what I'm looking for and price!

Do they still make Chevy and Ford?

Dodge....if desperate I MIGHT consider a Ford on a drunken day.

You defined "new" with that being said I'm not sure I would buy new. Too much emission equipment to delete. Now if your talking "new" to me without a doubt a duramax, and would spend the time to find an LBZ, as for dodge and ford, they have had great years also. I can replace ALOT of parts for what they want for a "new" not so reliable truck. I see you didn't specify diesel or gas, so if it was a 2015 I just might look into a gas engine, depending on how much and how often I was towing, would still be a GM.

I've been towing tt's and one 5th wheel with Fords and have absolutely no complaints. I only owned 1 Chevy (junk) and one Dodge (yuk). The resale on the Dodge was horrible and so was the repair record. The Chevy definitely had the most defects. Sorry people, the Fords have had the greatest track record for performance and repairs (or lack of). My F150's have been ironclad.

Actually in my case it was just the opposite. They're all great if you get a good one and suck if you get a lemon.

Agree. I

If all things are equal, then I will look for the 1 that is most American or Canadian made.

Another My truck is better than your truck debate!!

And I just came here to read the comments as well!!

Save some cash and get a used 10 wheeler with a sleeper and air ride seats! And then get the biggest 5er you can find!!

When I bought my Dodge it was the lowest price. Has been a good truck. I plan baring a disaster to keep for ever just repair and rebuild as necessary. I did and still do like that has a Cummins engine. If I bought another one now it would probably be a used Ford Diesel used because it would be lower price than a new one and because Ford is a free company so far.

My Dodge has 11k, had it five months. Same transmission issue since new, still not resolved and now the dealer refuses to look at it again (trying to prevent me from triggering lemon law) and Chrysler is no help. No other Dodge dealerships will look at it cause it wasn't purchased from them.

Get a Toyota.

It won't be a Dodge because Ram Trucks is its own separate division of Chrysler and the Dodge name is no longer on the trucks. But, I like the Ram and the Ford

With new trucks...I'd be looking for cockpit design and features plus best performance & tow specs....with that said, probably would look hard at the Fords...

I liked the Ford and the Ram about the same... but will never own another GM product for my own reasons. The Ram looked better to me, had the Cummins, and ended up about 10% less money than the Ford, so that's the way I went. That doesn't mean that I think it's better than either of the others... but it's mine and I like it... I hope you like yours, too, whichever company stuck it together...
