Problem I have is I possibly will be one of those guys who will over oil the filter and end up with a gummed up MAF.... so it's a dry filter for any FI engine for me.

you beat me to it lol

I know what I found on the K&N dust passage. I personally do not wish to change anyone's mind. I just want people to know my findings. I would do that in most cases and not just a filtration issue. Use what you like.

I found this on the net... looks legit

If my memory is correct and I don't know about Fords but that era of Duramax's (LMM) didn't have a ninth injector when it regen'd so there was some dilution. Because of that Amsoil recommended changing the oil sooner than their specs said???
I live in central Georgia. 60% of miles are in the SE; AL, MS, LA, GA, FL, TN, SC. Once or twice a year to WI, AZ, and TX. There are occasional trips to AR, KY, NC, WV, and OH. I work from home and don't commute.

Yeah, this engine dumps fuel into the cylinder on the exhaust stroke during regen. A lousy idea. The key to keeping the fuel out of the oil is to reduce the frequency of the regen. These trucks don't make good 'grocery getters' (short trips). They will regen too frequently and the EGR coolers will clog. My average regen interval is every 476 miles but it will sometimes go as long as 1400 miles between regen cycles.

The Blackstone tests consistently show "Fuel%" to be <0.5%. Fuel contamination should be <2.0%.

Sounds like the start of a good country song,!
