Don't feel bad, I think they give you even more runaround and bs when you work for them. The will try a "little" harder to make a deal with a stranger then someone they think has to buy from them.
Good luck with the search!!

But hey he had a similar unit for 10, 000 dollars more! And they will even give me a thousand less for mine to trade!
i cant believe you passed on a deal like that. especially after driving an hour i bought my 08 in 10 with less than 3000 miles on it. didnt have a 5th wheel/gooseneck set up in it nor did it look like the reciever had ever had a hitch installed. was told it was bought by some guy who traded every 2 yrs, and he traded for the same truck 2 model yrs newer.

as far the fass fuel system, does that replace the stock filter with something (block off plate)to mount in stock location? that stock filter is in a pita location, at least for me anyway. im not any where NEAR as flexible and limber as i usta be

So true about the fuel tank!! Our tank is only 16 gallons!!!! We also have an 08. Pulls awesome but we have to stop about every 150-175 miles for diesel. We have always wondered who did not think the fuel system through? That big of a truck is going to be towing something so need a bigger fuel.

If you were a bit closer I'd put you in touch with my dealer. They have an awesome reputation for going out of their way to make good deals. They aren't afraid of getting the vehicle you want from where ever they can find it. Or if they have what someone wants, shipping it to their door. They helped me to order my '11 from the factory and helped keep tabs on where it was at and then took video of it as it came off the hauler for me.
Good luck! Your patience will be rewarded!

After reading your post I went and dug out our papers it does say 26. My husband is confused! I just enlighten him. He always fills at 1/4 tank left. The towing is a problem, unless you like stopping often.

Hope your search ends well! I had Denali Yukon XL with 6.2L before and wouldn't look back now after getting the 2011 Duramax! I can't tell I have a trailer behind me and gets better mileage to boot!

Going to check out an 08 and 09 Saturday.
08 has 70k on the ticker and the 09 has 40k
We'll see how it goes.

my 5th wheel weighs 10300 empty (dealer said ) and i dont know it is back there. we travel light (food, clothes for the length of trip) so we are nowhere near maxing out. i have 4x2, and havent needed 4wd as of yet. i have the standard 6.6 bed and havent needed the slider hitch yet either, but i got it just in case. my 2wd truck does sit as high as my neighbors 3500hd dually 4x4 tho.
get yourself some running boards for certain. those are next on my list to make my wife just that much happier

Turbo you're going to wonder why you waited so long to get one. If you haven't found a D-Max forum yet to read up on them a couple good ones are "Diesel Place" and "Duramax Forum".
