I just returned from my first trip with my 2011 Duromax 2500HD and 11,000 lb. GVWR 5er. We hit Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado. We did 5100 miles in six weeks. This had lots of mountain driving - Vail pass, Beartooth hwy., Hwy. 14A in the Bighorns.
I was very pleased to be able to go up all the grades without slowing down at all. Only occasionally, did it even shift down to 5th gear. I was also pleased that we averaged just a shade under 13 MPG for the trip.

You don't really have to stop.

Last year this time, I picked up my new 2011 CC Z71 long bed, LT w/leather, plow package, $43,400. Had 11k in discounts. I know when I was into the dealer a couple weeks ago, salesman was trying to talk me into another one. Had similar discounts.

You're getting out cheap at those prices. New mine was $62k that I negotiated down to $54k.
Pre-2011 may not be enough truck for you though - the frame and rear end changed in 2011 and the specs are alot higher.

You did get away with a good price! In 2011, February, they wanted about $46,400 for that without leather. A Dodge about as equiped, SLT, CC, diesel, short bed 4WD about $43,000. I ended up with a 2011, F250, XLT, CC, diesel, longbed with RWD for $39,125. I am very happy with what I got as I realy wanted a longbed and I looked for 7 months prior to buying. I was very suprised that there are not many longbeds around, any brand, and this is in Texas were almost 1/2 of all registrations are pickups. Good Luck
