In regards to RV Guys excellent explanation, I would much rather go with the unit with the increased GVWR over the lower GVWR, even if I were not going to load the camper beyond the lower GVWR limit. I am a firm believer that staying way under the GVWR is a positive thing regarding tire and axle problems. That is 1 reason we decided on a camper with a 3000+ lb. carrying capacity. Loaded for camping, even with a full water tank, we are still a ton under the GVWR trailer rating.
