Duramax EZ Tuner

Does anyone know anything about the Duramileage EZ Tuner? They advertise an increase of 4 to 7 miles per gallon. The cost is approximately $500 so the Pros and Cons would be nice.

I don't have one, nor do I intend to get one, but from what I've "heard" the mileage gain is on an empty truck, not towing. Towing, they get little more than what you started with. To me it's not worth blowing black smoke all over my 5er and filling it with fumes.

...not to mention taking responsibility yourself from the GM computer that keeps your engine operating in a safe nondestructive mode.

i'd say get on a duramax forum and ask but most prob turn em up and race or sled pull but prob not many that pull campers that have tried or know. I have 3 friends with duramax's, 1 with the edge with attitude with juice so he can change programs on the fly and he turned his up to 600 hp. he does tow but mostly a daily driver and has had to do trans work and broke the rear diff racing a mustang I think. the next added efi live and loves it to his 06 and the third just exhaust and he won't do anything else to it since he's mister stock but he is also a diesel mechanic on bus's! lol

Look up the reviews on the diesel forums...you'll find it's really not worth the cost...also, all warranty on your truck can be/will be void if they tie in any problems caused by running these performance software.
If you are really wanting to get into a performance/mileage tune...no other better software application than EFI LIVE from a reputable tuner.

Thanks for the info. It looks like this tuner is a no go. I'll be researching EFI LIVE now.

freind of mine installed a fass system on his powerstroke, and was disappointed to see only 1 or 2 mpg gain while towing. he was under the impression it would be more. he was very impressed with the increased power tho. he doesnt have empty mpg comparisons as this truck is his dedicated hauler and he has another vehicle for daily use.

That's gonna take a bucket of iced down adult beverages & an easy chair worth of time to discuss that one! LOL

Have you checked out dieselplace.com & duramaxforum.com...they have plenty of info just on that subject to help.
