Duramax fuel filter access door

For the Duramax owners who prefer to change their fuel filters themselves....

In my last 2010 LMM I could change the filter with a bit of swearing from the top but now my 2014 LML I can't change it from above.

The truck has mud flaps on it so to remove the inner fender the right mud flap would also have to come off so.... instead I installed a fuel filter access door which I bought online along with some extra fuel filters.

I gotta say with the access door it really makes changing the filter easy peasy without any swearing at all.... Ten minutes max...

Way better than the $180.00 the dealer want around here to do it! Maybe that's the reason why these trucks don't come with an access from the factory!

I jus installed a FASS 150 which includes a crew on fuel filter and water separator. Takes about 1 minute to sap out the filters as it is on the frame rail underneath the cab. Mine also has the lift pump so I can feed the CP4 under the hood and reduce stress on that thing.

If I didn't want the lift pump, I would have done the access door.
