Duramax fuel filter adapter "nicktane"

Has anyone added the adapter to the stock duramax fuel filter assy. To be able to run the 1 and 2 micron caterpillar filters?
Duramax Catepillar Fuel Filter Adapter Kit Genuine Nicktane not A Copy | eBay
Since my truck parameters are stock I dont feel a $500.00 fass system is beneficial and this adapter and filter kit far outweigh's the stock filters capabilities for the price.
Taking out the check ball alone is a great improvement.

Thoughts.

I would honestly suggest with your skills just find a filter head and cat filter to spin on to it of your choice. Then splice that baby in between the stock fuel filter and the injection pump... (sorry if you dont have an injection pump, i'm not terribly fluent with anything other than cummins...)

Most of the cummins guys I talk to do this route I suggested, none like the idea of running a fuel filter outside of the engine bay as we all here in the midwest experience freezing temps and the folks with the frame mounted pump and filter seem to be the ones that get screwed

The nicktane adapter is exactly that it adapts to the existing filter head to allow you to run a cat filter. I do not have one on mine yet but plan to in the future. The cat filters are cheaper than the stock plus you get better filtration.

Get the spacer also because it is close to the block

you do realise fuel is pulled from your tank which bosh told GM to add a pump like dodge did (same CP3) you pump works harder to do both and the 3 little pumps inside like to have fuel waiting at the inlet , plus the added benefit of filter and water sep. I am running the airdog2 -165 and put it on the truck when it was only a year old or so, the engine runs smoother and no more priming

The spacer I ordered when I got the truck, to spacer out the gm filter housing.

the stock bolts for the spacer are too short so get longer ones from the hardware store just about 1/2 longer

Besides I already carry the cat filter for my peterbilt so this was a no brainer.
It'll pay for itself in two filter changes.

Also if some of you haven't seen this.

Takes 15 minutes to change fuel filter in either case.

Saved me $900 for a new filter head. Once you done it, you can probably do it in an hour for $30.

Hopefully in the next couple of nights I can get it installed.
