I just followed a car with what was left of probably a 25 foot extension cord still attached to the block heater plug in dragging behind them down the highway.

If only they made them wireless.

Depending on your tow truck it has a relay disconecting it from the trailer. There may also be a diode in the trailor isolateing it.
