Easiest Question You'll Get All Day
I have my TT connected to shore power (30A) at home in the driveway. The slide is out so that I can pack it for a trip this weekend.
I want to keep the fridge ON until I leave so that it can get chilled.
Can I connect my truck to the TT (WDH only, not electrical) while it is on shore power? I'd like to be able to do that so that I can be nearly "ready to go" in the morning.
If so, can I do this with the slide still out or must I retract the slide? (yes...I"ll remember to retract it before driving away!)
1000 Thanks,
Seakayaker

You sure can! I do this myself sometimes the day before a trip. Gotta get it ready to roll. Anything to make leaving easier the day of.
And....no difference from people stopping overnight and remaining hooked while traveling. Just remember....... unhook electrical from shore power and make sure the slide is in. You are good to go!

Hitch it up. Just to be on the safe side, don't plug the electrical trailer plug into your trucks trailer plug.
Your 30 amp RV electrical service is powering your inverter that is charging your trailers battery. When your truck is connected and running it's also charging your RV battery.

You need to be level, or near level, for the fridge and slideout to work optimally. Have a great weekend. Don't you love to be able to RV all year?

I would leave the slide in while hooking to truck. Raising to place on ball, may twist slide frame. Raise it, mount it, level it, then put slide out. When ready to leave, unplug electric, plug in umbilical cord, do walk around, check lights, and off you go.

The only concern I would have is when hooked to the truck, the TT needs to be close enough to level for the refrigerator to work without harm to the cooling unit.
A half bubble or so should not be a problem. More than that and I would be looking to do differently.

+1 to make sure you are near level so the fridge works properly.

Same. I'd bring the slide in for the hitching up process.
And, I'm with the others- try to be fairly level (front to back, if the fridge is on a side wall; side to side, if the fridge is on the front or rear walls).

Put something, a note, card, checklist etc on the steering wheel as a reminder that you are NOT ready to drive off. You'd be amazed how many people just jump in and drive off without doing a thorough final check and walk around. Once you've done that final check and walk around, pull out just enough to clear where you had been parked and set up. Secure your tow vehicle, get out and examine where you just pulled out from. It's VERY easy to miss something, especially if it somehow got under the TV or TT. Return to your TV the long way eyeballing EVERYTHING one last time.
Yes, I DO wear a belt AND suspenders!

We got 40 CM (almost 16 inches) of wet snow followed by 7 hours of rain and mine are away for the next 6 months as well. but yes you can hook up and be ready to pop smoke.

Talk about forgetting to put the slide in, while in a park Thanksgiving week, a guy came in with a 5th wheel with the bedroom slide still out!

Several times a year we do back to back weekend trips, Have a set of blocks that we back the rear TV tires on to help with the leveling. Drop the tongue jack to level, rear stabs down slide out plug in and rearrange for the next weekend.

When we are stopping for just 1 night, we stay hooked up to the truck. We lower the stabilizers after ensuring we're level, push out the slides, hook up the 110V and spend a nice evening. In the morning we simply do the opposite and hit the road. Easy pleasey!!!
