Easy Question - 100 lbs

I took my new 2015 Ford F350 6.7 to the Cat Scales and went thru the Weighing Trinity of just TV, TV with trailer with WDH engaged and TV with trailer without WDH engaged. I then went to this web site, Travel Trailer Weight Calculator | Safety Report and entered the numbers along with the other data requested about my TV and everything looked OK as far as the capacities of the TV go.

I attached the PDF of the entire report but here's a picture of just the results and the part that I have a question about.

The results, this all looks great to me:

This displays the part I have a question about:

The front axle weight with the WDH engaged is 4800lbs, with no trailer it's 4900lbs. I'm wondering if this too much weight removed from the front end of the TV? It's about 2% lighter with the WDH engaged compared to with no trailer.

It took me a lot of trial and error to get to this point. I've got some stuff that I usually take I can move to the storage in the rear of the trailer, from the truck bed, to add a little weight to the back of the trailer and take some weight off the tongue but I don't want to if the 100lbs is not a big deal. What do you think?

I`d say 100 pounds is nothing to worry about. Now go out and have fun.

First I am not a WDH expert but from your numbers I see no problem with your setup. You are well within your front axle rating in either case. So if this setup tows well I would say that you should be good to go.

I have a much lighter truck, and also toyed with front axle weights. As set up by the RV dealer, the front axle was within 200 pounds of the truck alone weight, but the rig didn't seem as stable as I would like. I adjusted the spring bars to push more weight to the front - now within 60 pounds of the truck alone and the rig has a lot more stability. My point is, try it as it is. If it seems a little "floaty" you can adjust your hitch and even a small change can make a noticeable difference.

Thanks everyone. It was very windy yesterday as I drove around with this set up for a little bit so I really couldn't tell if the trailer was swaying or being blown around by the wind.

Going to Gettysburg PA next weekend and Shenandoah Valley in VA the following weekend. Guess I'll a pretty good idea how it pulls after that.
