Eaz Lift sway bar???

We just purchased our HG 312QBUD and the dealer installed the required hitch with one sway bar. Our trailer weight is over 6K LBS. My questions is do we need to install second sway control and it was suggested on the EAZ sight, anything over 6K needs two sway bars?

Hi,
Did you purchase a weight distribution hitch like an Equalizer 4 point? If so, what type?
Makes all the difference on the required sway bars.
I have the Equalizer 4 point and do not require a sway bar but I did need one with my old chain style hitch.

Big Paul,
If you mean you are looking at changing your hitch type, I love my Equalizer like many here but other's like the Reese SC Weight Distribution w Sway Control - Trunnion
You can search the forums above for opinions.

I am wondering having a trailer over 6000 lbs do we need two sway bars? I just want to be safe going down the road. EAZY lift sight recommends two sway controls for anything over 6000 lbs. Does anyone have two sway bars on thier rig?

I added a 2nd sway bar that I bought from Harbor Freight for about $40 and I am really happy with it. Having the two bars adds another 45 seconds to the set up but it makes a nice difference.

Just to let everyone know the dealer said I needed two sway bars and they missed it. They are installing second one at their cost .

That's great a good dealer that fixes it's mistakes. When it comes to this there's never enough, had 2 on my #4000 trailer now a #6000 trailer and kept the same setup seems to work good.

That is good to know that you have not had problems Yet with only (1) sway bar. When a sway problem does occur it will be to Late to place the (Second Sway Bar) as (Recommend by the Manufacture)! Youroo!!

I've used mine with the Eaz Lift, and no sway bar several times, and don't notice any difference. My trailer in about 30' and now at 7,000#.

I pulled a 30 ft Jayco WhiteHawk with the EAZ Lift system....7800# loaded....1240# tongue weight.....used 1400# bars and one sway bar....never had a problem with towing...have now traded for a 5th wheel.

Check B&W. Their set up is a gooseneck receiver that a 5th wheel slides into.
I use one and have had no issues. They're American made and well built. I work in the oilfield and we only use B&W receivers. Their gooseneck set ups out last the pickups.
