If the list them for off road use only it's all good!
I'm glad I don't live in an emissions testing state.

Me too. My bully dog programmer for my Nissan Titan. Says for off road use only. It sure seems to run great on pavement.

Never heard of that company, but I think most of these company's were on borrowed time due to the products being for "offroad" use. If big brother can't get all of the little guys (us), they will get the bigger fish. And regs are getting more changes for 2014 and 2017.

-even heavy equipment is required to have tier 4 on new equipment, and even some retrofitting of older equipment

I think they all list them as off off-road, closed-course racing use only. I should clarify it was their delete package that got them in hot water. So I think for now a tune c/w emission intact is still fare game.

I think we will all be there soon but honestly people know that what their doing is technically illegal weather we agree w/ it or not.

I don't like it either but I'm not going to kid myself thinking that it will get better (at least not in the next 4 years)

Our rigs will eventually be targeted as well.

Limited to amount of trips per year or something silly like that.

And then a "you don't need all that" to go camping!

That company (H&S) as well as MADS (Smarty) both have stopped production and development of emission delete tunes and hardware.

As of now, H&S insists it will continue updating their products for customers. It really doesn't have anything to do with IF you have testing, but WHEN you will have it.

That said, I just ordered all my deletes and programmer.......

Think for now, only products labeled for off-use will be targeted first...think there is some basic tuners that don't get into deletes, etc..so a little safe for the moment.

Waiting for all the states to incorporate California's tow law speed limit of 55mph... Gov just can't leave us alone!

H&S and Spartan are the big "DPF delete" tunes. I was looking at ordering an H&S before all this started. Edge, Banks, Bully Dog, etc . are non-DPF delete tunes.

I can see the EPA ordering these companies to stop producing "off-road" programmer tunes, but then it will come down to people getting these tunes off the black market that will be created because of this off-road tune ban. It's going to be very difficult for the EPA to stop this. If they're really serious, it will require every state to start emissions testing. They will also have to start no-notice (beside the road) testing of diesel vehicles. Yes folks, more government intervention to make ours lives better

Lol. Yes! And depending on where you live some interstates are right on par with NASCAR. I always considered myself a professional driver on a closed course.

Until the day comes that they make a full size Prius that can tow 12K-18K, I'm rolling coal in my diesel

I remember this coming up in 06 when they mandated DPF etc. The value of pre-DPF trucks remains high just because you dont have to deal with that stuff. Sooner or later you had to know this was going to be a problem. For years you have been able to buy over the counter products that directly violated US Law having to do with emissions. Those of lucky enough (or smart enough) to live in a state or county with no emissions testing can get away with directly flouting the EPA. Regardless, we all had to know what we were doing was illegal the whole time.

Ironically, the current crop of diesel's get good MPG with the emission stuff left alone, and produce more power than any of us need.

While I've had my fair share of "dirty" trucks, with the power the new diesels are delivering, I don't see a need to dump a huge black cloud just to say, "look at me" I cringe every time I see some high school kid "roll coal". My honest opion, they should be fined. My truck produces 400hp of clean diesel power. I also like the fact that I don't have any strong diesel odor to the exhaust, unlike some that will actually make your eyes water going down the road. Not knocking, those with tuners that are responsible in using them, but I see way too many misused just so they can put everyone in a black cloud of smoke.

Now the flood gates are open.

I think everyone on this forum are probably "responsible users" of these aftermarket products but as always, the squeaky wheel gets the attention then ALL users pay the price.
Same could be said for the loud & tuned motorcycles on the road, dirty outboard boat motors, etc...Next, there will be people boycotting the strong smell of coffee at Starbucks and another regulation is born...at some point gotta not sweat the small stuff.

This gonna be a LONG thread! Happy Camping
