Equal-i-zer Brand Hitch Sale

RVW 48 Hour Internet Only Equal-i-zer Sale

Saw a post over at RV.net yesterday and took advantage of the savings, so thought I would post here in case anyone is in the market for a new Equalizer hitch. RVW has a 48 hour sale going on that still has about 24 hours left. Then, the OP at RV.net pointed out that HitchSource.com has a price matching policy where they will give you 110% of the difference in advertised price. I was able to purchase a new 12k Equalizer hitch for $418.59 out the door including free shipping. You have to buy the ball seperately (less than 21 bucks). Just received an email today that my hitch and ball have already been shipped! Good deal if anyone is in the market!

Wow excellent offer, too late for me but others in the market for a EQ should definitely take advantage. While on the website you may as well go ahead and purchase the EQ Lost Pin Survival Pack Equal-i-zer Lost Pin Survival Pack - RVWholesalers.com RV Parts because it is not if but when you misplace one of these pins you will be glad you have spares.

I have a 2306 which has a loaded weight 4,700 and a 400 to 500 tongue weight and am running the 1,000lb / 10,000lb - without issue.

depending on what the tongue and gross are cause not sure of the specs on your model you should be fine.

to install the ball you need a special socket (thin walled) to install the ball.

If I am looking at the correct model you have, according to the FR website, the 831FKBSS has a GVWR of 8814 and a dry hitch weight of 814, both are slightly more than my 3008w model 8742/742. If you follow the 12-15% tongue weight rule, then your tongue weight will most likely be just over or just under 1k lbs when your are loaded and ready to travel depending on how you load.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I did have my dealer inquire with his Equalizer Rep, and the rep also recommended the 12k/1200 hitch for the length and weight of the trailer I'll be towing.

I also posed this question regarding the 12k hitch at another forum, and this was one of the responses I got from someone with firsthand experience towing a similar weight/length:

"We tried using our 1000# bars when we traded our Rockwood 2601 for our Rockwood 8315 and from experience can tell you that you will need 1200# bars.
I think the Windjammer is within a few lbs. of the Signature Ultra Lite and when I tried the 1000# bars you could see them bend when the tongue jack was lowered. Also driving was similar to having bad shocks on the TV. Changed to 1200# bars a the ride was fine."

Your dealer may be able to advise you as well, but what I've shared has been experience, and I am comfortable going to the 12k hitch (bummed though cuz I already had a 10k hitch, but didn't know if it was enough, which is why I started my own investigating). Best of luck in your decision!

If you are that close to the 1,000lb / 10,000lb - I would personally step up to the 1,200 / 12,000lb setup
one it will also allow you to upgrade trailers and have no worries later on and two the bigger bars will help with more sway control

you need to stop looking at fictional "dry" weights.

loaded for camping, i'm sure you'll be over 1000lbs. on the tongue, with that front kitchen.
you'll need the 1200/12000lbs. Equal-i-zer.
