Equalizer 90-00-0600 or 90-00-1000

Hi All - I'm looking for some been there - done that advice.
I've just purchased a 2014 Palomino SolAire 213X (hitch weight-605lbs., dry weight-4,280lbs., GVWR-7,605lbs.). The dealer is recommending I use an Equalizer 90-00-600. He feels the 90-00-1000 will be too stiff and not enough flex to function properly. Based on what I've read so far I think the #600 is a bit light though. I'm assuming the hitch weight from the Mfg. is optimal - correct? Would that assume full propane, battery and gear in the box? I doubt I'd ever hit the GVWR - that would be carrying a big load of "stuff". I'm pulling this with a 2010 Ford F150 CrewCab, 4,6L, 3.55 axle.

Go for the Equal-i-zer 1000/10000...the other is too light IMO. Your hitch weight should probably be in the 700 - 800# range when loaded...the dry weight is without battery(s) or propane.

I was recently asking a dealer about this and he disclosed that they only carry a couple sizes of the equalizer bars. That told me that it probably isn't too critical of a choice if you're borderline. Also, I decided to ignore the dealer suggestion and do my own research.

Use Equal-I-zer's calculator, I think you're solidly in the 1000 range:

4280 (dry) + 800 (MIN options & cargo estimate) = 5080 loaded
5080 * 12%TW = 610 lbs
If you can keep your cargo that low, and TW that low, you could just barely use the 600lb kit. But why limit yourself? In reality, you'll probably be somewhere closer to 700 lbs, which is over the weight rating of the 600lb kit. The bars will flex too much, meaning you likely will not be able to transfer enough weight to get all lost weight back on the front wheels.

My camper is about 5200 lbs loaded, and the 1,000 lb Equal-i-zer does a fantastic job keeping my short wheelbase Mountaineer under control. It's a great ride, and I have had zero complaints of bouncing, "porpoising", or swaying from anyone in either of the 3 rows of seating.

smart choice cause asking camper dealer ships about hitch's is like asking a Honda salesmen about fords lol what they have in stock always seems to be what you need lol and yet they don't stock the top end models when they could roll that into the loan of a new purchase
