Equalizer Bars
Can anyone tell me the thickness of the 1400 TW bars . My 1200`s are 1 5/8``. I read somewhere the 1200 and the 1400 use the bars. But I`m not buying that unless just the 1400 head is thicker steel construction. Looking to upgrade to stiffer bars seeing my tongue weight is over 1200 when loaded. I have a reese dual cams (old style) with 1500 bars. Deciding on using it or go with and equalizer with 1400 bars , I do like how easy the equalizer is to use over the reese. But I already have the reese so no money out of pocket .

Out of 84 views somebody must have EQ 1400 bars . Seems to be a deep secret on the thickness. Well I`m thinking of buying the 1400 bars and use them on my 1200 head . I think they are the same thickness just different stiffness. They want you to buy the 1400 head so it covers there butts from a safety stand point.

Do not have either, have the 1k setup.. But Google found this..
http://www.is.rv.net/forum/index.cfm...ax%7D/sr/1.cfm
About 1/2 down some comments on the size not being the same. I remember reading, as well, the 1400 do not fit anything else. But then the next person says they do...

I can't help (I have 1200's) but have you thought about calling/emailing Equalizer about this? I am sure they could answer your question pretty easily and then you would have first hand info from the manufacturer.

I emailed Equalizer and this is their reply in a nutshell. The 1200 and 1400 bars are the same. So using my 1200 head with 1400 bars would be the same as I have now. So for going over 1200 TW I would want to use the 1400 head which is thicker steel and I can still use my 1200 bars. Hope this answers other peoples thoughts on this matter as well.

My 10k Equal-I-zer bars are constant square cross section, end-to-end. I'll have to stop by the yard and measure.
