I agree. I'm using the same hitch configuration on my previous 4,000 lb trailer.

Airbags are for payload, applied over/near the rear axle.
WDH kits are for tongue weight, applied behind the tow vehicle, far behind the rear axle.

With an SUV or passenger vehicle you really need to be concerned about PAYLOAD weight capacity. Just because a vehicle can PULL 6500+ lbs does not mean it can handle a thousand plus pounds on the axles. Especially if you consider filling the vehicle with large passengers or gear. I suspect with a 6500 tow rating you will run out of payload capacity well before you get close to this number.
