Equalizer hitch question

Morning,
I have a question. We have just got our rockwood 8319SS about a month ago. Haven't went camping yet but plan to next month. I noticed that the equalizer hitch mechanism tilts downward slightly towards the ball end when it is in the truck's reciever. Is this normal? Should it be level? I was not impressed with the dealers PDI when we picked it up so I am dubious if they installed the hitch correctly or not. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

David

The ball s supposed to tilt backward away from the TV. That tilt is what puts the strain on the spring bars. You add washers to get more tilt therefore more strain on the spring bars thusly more weight transfered to the TV's front wheels.

thank you

thanks,
I appreciate the help. I had to turn the l- bracket holders over. According to the instructions my trailer was the B-type and the dealer had set it up for an A- type. I don't know if that makes a difference but I changed them around anyway.

You did right. It works better set up like the mfg recommends. Take your time making the measurements and you'll have a good setup.

Here's how mine looked when I used it... I never had a problem with it set up that way.
