Equalizer Hitch to Shank Bolts

Anticipating the arrival of my new 3/4 ton this week and as luck would have it we are reserved at a campground this weekend. I know the new Ram sits roughly 4-5" Higher than my 1500 so i envision needing to adjust the hitch head. Any concern with re-using the head to shank bolts? Thanks.

I have always reused them after adjusting with no problems. Just remember to check them later to make sure they are still tight.

They're under shear stress and not elongation stress, so reusing them isn't an issue, as long as they show no signs of shearing.

just make sure they are grade 8. My equal-i-zer came with grade 5 and we actually bent both of the bolts before one snapped the head off,

Our old WHD also had grade 5 bolts, although they never gave us any problems.The new Husky Centerline TS , has all grade 8 bolts !!! Very impressed with the quality so far !!!

Guess what, don't need to adjust anything yet. A new longer shank might be in order. Find out after our first tow this weekend. My hitch head was already at the lowest setting.
