When 1/2 tons are maxed on payload they're also maxed on the RAWR and GVWR. Not so with 3/4 ton trucks. Hitting the CCC on a 3/4 ton truck still leaves plenty of payload for the rear axle.
Heck you can be at the GVWR and still have RAWR left along with room from the tire ratings.

It's called load capacity reserves. The GVWR is always the limiting factor.

Only for those that don't use the RAWR

Axle ratings are just that; AXLE RATINGS. Anything remaining once they meet the GVWR is load capacity reserves. The GVWR is the LIMITER.

Because people use the axle ratings as limiters does not make it right.

I have a 1/2T GMC Sierra 1500 with std GM tow package. MAX is 12000 (TV & TT). My truck & 2 people was 5700#s, my 27FKS was 6300#s, combined 12000#s at max for everything. The only item I added was an additional Tx cooler because even with the tow pkg Tx cooling included, it was stiil not enough!!!! and an original model Husky WDH with active anti sway - another must have. Truck drove and performed flawlessly.
