That is very good for a half ton. I have a 2011 3/4 ton 4X4 Duramax CCSB and real world payload ( with a 5th wheel hitch installed ) on them is only about 1500 lbs +/-. 10,000lbs GVWR is used up real soon. Mine weights 8,217 lbs straight from the dealer to the scales with just wooden box liner, running boards, 5th wheel hitch installed, owners manual, and me(210lbs).

I test drove one a few weeks ago...it was impressive. I particularly like the manual mode on the 6 spd auto. I believe that the F150 HD would have the same payload as the TV in my signature and get much better fuel mileage unloaded that my V10. I'd be looking seriously at it if I was in the market.
