Or... stick a 7 pin trailer light tester in the 7 pin socket. Less than $10.
It disables the auto start/stop because it believes you are towing.
Autostop is disabled when towing.

Or... get a Autostop Eliminator.

How do you like your bed rug?

The forscan and these are good suggestions. I want to keep it simple and inexpensive. I will try the trailer light tester first.

However there are two issues that may be related but I don’t know.

One is the auto stop hassle and this looks like a simple fix.

The other is the engine stopping for no apparent reason WHILE MOVING, NOT STOPPED. That has only happened once but ...

I'd get Forscan. About $35 for the lowest cost adapter. Then you can make some other nice changes: disable the horn honk if you get out of truck with engine on and close the door, enable fog lights with hi-beams (bambi mode - good for seeing side of road at night), turn on display of oil and tran temps, door ajar warning with engine on, disable fake engine noise, secure idle enable (cannot put truck in gear if fob is outside of the truck - push button start trucks), etc...
Also can be used to get correct speed display if changing tire size. Many others.

This is a leased truck that I have to return in two years.
Are the changes easily reversible?
Will it affect the warranty?

Any other vehicles other than Mustangs have fake engine noise?
