F350 towing WS8289 5er

Hi
Considering buying a 2013 Ford F350 to pull our Rockwood WS 8289. Was told the 5er doesn't have any height adjustment to adjust for truck bed height. The truck isn't raised up any higher than stock 4x4. What do you think the chances are that the truck isn't too high for the 5er?

Some hitches have some height adjustment.
The F350 can easily be lowered as well. No worries!

I have a 8289 WS and no way to raise that, they might sell a lift kit for Torsion axles I don't know. New truck beds are just higher I guess it would depend on the hitch. I know the Husky 16K has 4 adjustment holes on them. I would measure the bed height, and pin height level and then pick a hitch...

I have the 2016 Flagstaff equal and Ram 2500 4X4. The truck is a bit high and the trailer rear axle is near it's limit, but I just load accordingly. I have a little over 5 inches of clearance on truck bed. I think the water tank is aft of the axles and if full would probably over load the rear axle. I only travel with 15 gals of water. Dexter does NOT recommend their spacer kit for the axles. They recommended new axles with higher start angle to raise trailer. I weighed everything empty, then camping ready and for now I will just monitor the situation.

There is a lift kit for these 5ers. Forrest River paid for one for my 2013 8289.

The hitch is adjustable so that the trailer will be level. I have. 2005 F-350 2WD and game 7" clearance between rails and trailer. A minimum of 6" is recommended.

Hello have the same trailer as you and the Witch Doctor. 2 years ago at Goshen they installed a lift kit on my axles as the Witch Doctor watched. They just bolt on. Gave me the extra 2 1/2 inches I needed for the F 150. Now I have a F 250 with 4 inch blocks and I have 8 inches and tow level. My Reese hitch has one more set of bolt holes to lower yet if required.

Dexter said in no uncertain terms not to use their lift kit with my axles. Evidently something has changed in the axle construction. My advice is to find out which axle (email a pic of the axle label) is on the trailer you want to buy and then contact the mfg regarding lifting. You could definitely do your own lift kit, but at the expense of warranty.

I pull my Crusader with 2010 F350 FX 4x4 off road version, which I'm told is about 2 inches higher than the normal 4 x 4. We have no problems with the height with this rig. You should be fine. Enjoy the ride.

Lower rear blocks

Just a thought. If....you find the pickup bed is still too high after you connect a fully loaded trailer, order the F-250 rear blocks from your dealer. If the suspension is pretty much the same as my '06, doing that will lower the rear end by approx 2".
