Fastway E2 Hitch

I've got to get a new ball mount hitch contraption for my truck. I discovered the Fastway E2 hitch and it appears to be a godsend. I don't have a lot of strength in my hands, and trying to hook up the sway bars with the chains and the equalizer and everything took me forever and took the joy out of hooking up and hitting the road. I'm looking at buying this setup. My 29' 2011 Rockwood Ultralite 2604 trailer weighs 7360 lbs. dry with all my stuff in it and I tow it with a 2014 Chevy Silverado 5.7 liter V8 350hp automatic transmission truck. It doesn't have the HD tow package. I never travel with more than a couple of gallons of fresh water in it, never with any grey or black. The hitch comes in 6,000, 8,000 and 10,000 pounds tow weight. I'm thinking of getting the 10,000 one but I'm not sure if I need it. It's only $15 more than the 8,000 pound one. I'm just wanting go know if anyone has had any issues with this hitch setup or if you are happy with it. Thanks so much!!

I had an e2 when I pulled a travel trailer. It worked great for me and, with a power tongue jack, hitching and unhitching was easy.

For that weight I'd go with the equalizer brand 4 point

X2 for sure get the 4 point with a power tongue jack.

Looking at the Equalizer. Not sure what the difference is between it and the E2 . . .?

I had one on my travel trailer 21' at 4500 lb and I had the 8000 E2. It worked well with the power tonque jack. Need to get it properly setup.

The e2 has 2 friction points to help control sway. The 4 point has just that,4 points of sway control.

I suggest that with either setup the 8000 lbs set should be sufficient for the use you have -- too heavy a setup has other issues.


BTW I use the E2 unit - once the hitched and tongue lifted the bars slide on/off by hand no tools needed

I just switched over to the E4 hitch and am very happy with it, my dry weight is approx. 8000lbs and when I called Equalizer they suggested to go with the 10k hitch
I noticed that the trailer no longer sways and it also has helped with the bouncing due to the 4pts of friction as mentioned above

I ended up getting the equalizer 4 12000kg, very satisfied with it, quick to hook up and nothing to loosen up when backing up
