I don't think there is hard fast rule and depends on if you pin is over the axle or a couple inches in front of the axle and how you the nose of the 5er is shaped.

The only hard fast rule, is if it hits hard and fast, busted back window and a large dent!

CWS, I hear you. It's all in the shape of the nose. My last one was a Heartland product and they went to 88 degree caps on all their lines. I still had to watch as 88 isn't 90 but it was a touch less watching than now with my XLR.

Kenny, that is true. It's also true that if you hit a tree while backing up your rig with a long bed or a slider it will also leave a dent. Not in your rear cab / rear window area but a dent just the same. Bottom line is paying attention is paying attention. Watch your clearance every time and you'll never hit...
