Finally upgrade my tow vehicle... no more ecoboost and struggling!

Upgraded my tow vehicle yesterday. Can't wait to go camping later this month!

But... But I thought the Eco Boost was BETTER than a full size and could pull the shuttle AND the Tacoma!!

FLAME ON!!!!!

BTW, nice truck. Only thing I never liked was the moose antler tow mirrors. Wish Ram could do something better looking.

Ecoboost is nice, I've had two of them, but not when it comes to towing a travel trailer. Empty I would say it's one the best driving trucks made. It totally drives like a car... Unfortunately it sort of towed like one! Disclaimer: I'm just speculating being I've never towed with a car before.

Thanks

You will quickly forget about the ecoboost, especially when towing.

Nice but what is it? 3/4 ton diesel? Do the mirrors retract?

Yes, 3/4 ton 4x4 mega cab with a Cummins diesel. Yes the fold in. My son unfolded them just to see how it looked.

You threw the bait out, so I'll nibble.... Ecoboost towed like a car? What was the weight on that trailer? Mine is towing 7k pounds like nobodies business.

My feathers aren't ruffled, but you've given the worst towing review of an ecoboost that I've heard, and I've read hundreds.

The 2016 sales literature says payload is 2030 & towing is 15,540. Of course could vary with added options. Looks like a nicely optioned truck.

Very nice upgrade. You will never tow with a gasser again. The eco boost is nice for what it is but no one ever complains for having too much truck.

So is this an actual honest Eco boost review? They really do suck? They can't out pull a diesel?

Ecoboosts are ok. I had one and it did just find towing in Colorado. However, fuel economy sucks, cargo carrying capacity for a nicely optioned one sucks, and the engine does have some known issues with it that scared me to a diesel.

Well you just jumped up to a whole other price range. It better be an improvement. Looks like a great truck and I hope to step up someday as well for the payload. That said I don't like the notion that an ecoboost isn't a good tow vehicle. They can pull anything...pure awesome if you ask me...but they suffer the same payload restrictions all half-tons deal with.
