Unfortunately in the society we live in today, the only thing that will increase that theoretical limit placed on your truck is not the springs, but the sticker in your door jamb. Now as a practical people, you and I both know that adding the missing parts will increase the capability of the truck.

Silly huh? I looked at a Ram 3500 Mega Cab short bed DRW whose payload was only 2100 lbs! All because of a sticker.

Yea, right, I understand for insurance purposes I will still be over on my GVWR. But at least I will know I have increased it. I will save my receipts and if I ever have to go to court I can supply them to my lawyer and hope for the best.

This statement needs validation by your trucks' manufacturer.
I seriously doubt an 80 dollar "option" will increase your GVWR by 1200 pounds. That sounds more like wishful thinking than reality.

I have my order sheet but does not show me what price the 350 option was, but I remember cost to me was 80.00 and the sheet price was about 200.00. I having my buddy looking it up now at the dealership if you order today how much will an optioned out the same 350 be compared to the 250. I will let you know as soon as he tells me.

Is that the price difference between a 350 and a 250 similarly equipped?

Herk, you are probably correct again and the price quoted to me was wrong for the upgrade. I just checked something else with my dealership and the CEO of serv dept told me they have a shop that upgrades the springs on f250 trucks for them often to be the same as an f350 and that is the only diff btw the 250 and 350. I called and the price with my discount is 485.00 to increase my payload 1000 lbs. He said the frame, brakes and everything else is the same, except of course the advertised GVWR on the 350 is more. Thanks again for all your help.

Man, I wish my 2008 GMC 2500HD was that way. The 2008 has a "C" channel frame and the 2008 GMC 3500HD was boxed.

Now, starting with the 2010 models both are boxed.

That is amazing. I might just walk to the corner and look at some Fords.

You might note, that the 2007 pictured has leaf springs in the front and the 2010s have coils.
There are different frames, engines, suspension and sheet metal between the 2. Not to mention curb weight.
Sorry not trying to rain on anybodys parade, but there is a big difference inbetween those trucks.

Well I was looking at production dates. Vins show 08, and 11, but early models of each, so hard to determine which setup it has. Usually the year doesnt change till July unless there are early releases.
Sorry if that was miss information. Either way 08 and 11 still had different drive train and sheet metal, I would have to look up specs on my measuring system to tell on frame differences

UPDATE

f350 springs installed on truck now. also kept the timbrens. also got an "umbrella" insurance policy for $ 1,000,000.00 if something happens. 120.00 a year and im not looking back. I will run my tire pressure just like a f350 with same tires would. I am under my axle weight rating by 200 lbs and 1,500 lbs under my RV weight for rv axles and 2,000 lbs under what weight the truck can pull(combined weight of the rv and truck.) thanks for all the advise and help.
