I agree with DEF in the diesel tank and my post said that but around here the diesel nozzle is larger then the filler for the DEF so would hard to get diesel in the DEF tank. You may get the gas nozzle in the smaller DEF filler but I doubt if it would fit. Now I have Ford and not sure what size the DEF filler on the Ram is.

Yep, def in the diesel tank or gas in a diesel tank gets real bad. Diesel in the def tank isn't good (more of an issue with big rig guys) but not near as bad.
Most diesel nozels around here are the smaller ones that are the same as gas nozels.

I agree, I have never seen one but googled it and sure enough they are putting yellow on them which around here that's E85 - Black is gas and Green is Diesel.

Try to use "Car" diesel. It's B5-B10. Truck stop diesel can be up to B20. You'll get better mileage with the B10 in the smaller diesels (under 10 liter) IMHO. The big truck 13 liters, etc... don't seem to mind the B20. (I drive both.)
You will hardly use any DEF in everyday driving.... When towing you will use a lot more.
Def is Highly corrosive make sure rinse off any overspill.
Make sure you keep the red plug in the diesel filler when adding def. You can over fill the def before you know it. Def tank is about 6 gals but I could only get about 2 gals in it when the gage read 1/2.
Did you get 2wd or 4wd?

The filler tubes are clearly marked between the two. It would be difficult to mix them up. After your first fueling it will become second nature. The diesel knozzle won't fit in the DEF port.
You should always pay attention to what nozzle you're grabbing!
You bought a great truck!

Don't stop at a BP station. I think it's a foolish disservice to their customers, but I have in fact fueled up at a BP station with green gasoline pump handles.

You could also look at the label, not just the handle colour.

Gee I wonder what would happen if put a green handle gas nozzle in your tank and seleted diesel.... Hmmmmm let me think.... Hmmm nothing would come out of the nozzle. That would be a indication that you just many have the wrong nozzle and if push gas you deserve what you get.

I've accidently done that several years back. All the nozzles were black, i grabbed the wrong one and then hit the diesel button, of course nothing happened, so i grabbed the next one and ( it was the correct nozzle) and everything went as it should.
Case in point.....stuff happens even when you've been doing it a while. It's something to always think about though!

Exactly!!!!! Biggest thing I can suggest is to follow the engine/chassis maintenance schedule as stated in the owners manual. Oil changes, filter changes, water removal from the fuel system are a few of the critical items that need to be attended to to keep your diesel in tip/top condition.

What do you guys think of the new Rams ability to tell you when to change your oil?
I'm at 5000 miles and still at 60% oil life on the EVIC.
I would think the first oil change should be sooner than 8-10,000 miles.
Unless the new trucks are running synthetic.

They are; Cummins ships the engine with Synthetic oil. This was pointed out to us when we toured the factory with the "Turbo Diesel Register.Com" members at Cummins open house for us.
For all new owners of the Ram Cummins diesel engine trucks and the new Eco-Diesel 1500, I would check out Turbo Diesel Register. Com web site. There is a wealth of information on that site and it is geared towards people who want to get the most life out of their trucks. I have been a member since Nov 07, when I purchased a 08 new and this is the best site on the internet for the Ram Cummins equipped truck.
