my first diesel also- 09 gmc 3500 cc 4x4 drw - had it since 11 - had 11,000 miles- now 36,300 I have shop maintain it. 2 freeze ups. once I almost immediately knew it was bad fuel(PUMP WAS RUNNING SLOW!!!!!!). second time was last winter. I now put howes additive in it starting in nov. going to start every other fill up.
I do carry plastic mechanic gloves to fuel up. Love the truck and the power. Avg 12.5 round town and towing- 16-18 highway empty at 65 mph on highway.

I have an LTZ,,,, I get a text message on the DIC telling me when it's getting low. I can monitor Def level at 25% and lower with the DIC. Above that it says 'OK' I'm thinking the LT's don't give you that? Dunno.

BP stations have green pump handles on gas pumps. I am always very careful to make sure I have hold of the right thing. DEF is lots cheaper in the truck lanes. I haven't seen it at the car lanes. The stuff in the box is about $5.00 per gallon. Truck stops about $2.50.

Like others said before, make sure your putting in diesel and not unleaded. Keep an extra DEF handy. Pain realizing you need a def fill and have to run to a station or store. Change oil and fuel filters at their scheduled time. Most of all, enjoy your ram! I love my 2500.

As per fuelly.

Lots of idle time during the winter.

Springer. I liked the truck. Did not like the surprise DEF stuff. Went to the Ram dealer and got a 15' 2500 and got 30k for my truck.
