Flex air pin to truck distance

Just put a flex air on our 5th wheel. the gap without the air bag filled is approx 4" between the truck and trailer. Once aired it closer to 6 1/2". Is this ok? Or should I get it closer to the 5-6" gap before the air bag is filled? But then that would put the gap around 7-8 1/2" and the trailer would be pretty nose high.

if by chance the bag blows it will only be 4" clearance.

The gap should be set correctly if durning installation you measured the distance from the ground to the bottom of the original king pin (where it mounts to the box) this distance plus 11 3/4 inches is where the top of the flex air should be set at.
