Flow through tpms

I'm getting ready to buy my first tpms. What is the general consensus of the flow through type sensors vs. the cap type?

Flow through, no need to remove to adjust pressures.

Are the batteries "user replaceable" on the flow through system? I bought the cap style as I knew that I could replace my own batteries.

Yes, I had mine a year and replaced 3 batteries and sent one sensor back for replacement.

I decided to buy the cap sensor, because it's smaller, and will have less influence on tire balance. Mine should arrive next week.

Yes they are replaceable. I had heard some rumors that the flow through type were prone to leaking. Anyone have similar problems?

Have had no issues with leaking. My sensors are going on two years old, will be replacing the batteries for the first time.

I find I add 2 or 3 lbs every month month and a half when I take MH out out of storage yard for a 5 or 6 day trip.

I bought the TST flow thru system last year...was very pleased with it and getting ready to put them back on for their 2nd year...I removed them during winter and removed the batteries, no need having them on during 5 months of winter running batteries down on the driveway....did not experience air pressure loss.....hoping to get 2nd year off the batteries.....Customer service with this company is awesome....I bought a 6 unit set, put 4 on the 5th wheel and 1 on the 5th wheel spare, and then traded the 6th unit back to the company for the repeater to boost the signal....can't say they'll do it for just anyone but the guy I spoke with, who made the exchange, even shipped the repeater to our campground so we would be "road ready" immediately......that's called customer service!!!!

What i was worried about is the flow thru are longer and stick farther than the cap style and I was worried that it would be more likely to damage them on curb.
