This is for anyone that has had the "Mopar flat towing harness" installed. I got tired of installing and removing the 10 amp fuse under the hood each time we hooked up and disconnected for towing. I knew that sooner or later I would drop the fuse or would not be able to see the holder in the dark.
So, I installed a lighted in-line switch on the line that powers the fuse holder and now I leave the fuse in and only have to flip the switch (along with the switch in the console). Since it is lighted, it is easy to see in the dark too. It came in real handy when we arrived at Gulf Shores State Park last week well after dark, and again on Saturday morning at 0500 when we had to evacuate before Hurricane Nate got there.
Another thing that is handy to carry is some type of OBDII device capable of erasing codes, either handheld or Bluetooth plug-in used with tablet or smart phone. If someone cranks the vehicle prior to pulling the fuse or turning the console switch off, you WILL throw a code and get an engine malfunction indicator light. Don't ask how I know.
