I agree with everyone about the power...at 14000 lbs + when loaded I hardly feel the 5th behind me. My main goal is to see if I get get better mileage. In fact when I'm not towing anything, I would actually like to de-tune the beast to get even better mileage empty.

I was thinking the same thing, more towing power?

My guess is that changes in driving habits may get as much improvement in fuel economy as a tuner. Maybe all you need block of wood under the go pedal to curb some enthusiasm.

If your wondering what others are doing to their rigs for add-on power go to: Ford Truck Enthusiasts, 1948-2011 Ford F150, Super Duty & SUV owners community and information source. Covers F100, F-150, F250, Bronco, Ranger, Explorer, Expedition, Lighting, Escape and More click on Models on the top bar and then diesel and 6.7.
Helpful info here.

Edit: wow, that turned out to be a long link. Sorry, should work though.

If you were doing it with older less powerful diesels and you say it gave you great towing gains. Well I'm saying that considering the older diesels were not as powerful then aren't you pretty much in the same position with the power and torque of your newer diesel. I wouldn't take the risk of a warranty being voided. And older diesels didn't have all these emission control for the exhaust. I think your asking for problems and expensive ones at that.

I have a 2012 6.7 that I use my Edge Evolution CTS that I had on my previous 08 Ford 6.4. It really helped the 6.4 both in power and mileage. I purchased the Evolution CTS specifically because I knew I would be upgrading trucks and the tuner would work with the 6.7. I use it only in the tow safe setting and I can honestly say that I don't even know that I have tuned it. The truck is sooo stout factory that it appears to do nothing. I called Edge and asked them what the gain was supposed to be in the Tow safe setting and they said it was 40 more hp. I pulled my 39' Cardinal 3425 RT that weighs 14,300lbs over Raton Pass in New Mexico at 50 mph un-tuned. I remembered to install the tuner for the return trip across the pass and it still went over at 50. If I didn't already own it I sure wouldn't spend the $700 as these trucks are beasts.

my truck is tuned to haul ass when I ask it too. I am not a kid but I do like the power it provides, it is a lot cheaper then a corvette (always wanted one) and I can smoke most execpt for the Z06. With over 550hp on tap at the wheels, it is a hoot, but the engine is studded and lots of mods to make if safe and reliable.

The 7 liter LS7 engine is another beast. It will tighten your sphincter for sure!
