Ford F350 owners with 5th wheel....
Looking for some help from 350 owners that have air bags. According to etrailer, you can not install air bags on a truck with a bed mounted 5th wheel hitch... But then they go on to say "except if you have a Reese universal rail and install kit."
I guess I just find it hard to believe that nobody with a 5th wheel hitch can run air bags.
Anybody out there have them on their 350 with a 5th wheel hitch?

Nevermind! You can delete this thread. The gentleman I talked too gave me the wrong part number! Just found the kit for trucks with in-bed hitches.

I got the Reese Elite hitch with the underbed mount. I haven't researched to see if they'll work with that set up, but I'm sure somebody has a kit that will. I've never put air bags on any of my duallies, and always wondered if it'd even be worth it. We don't have THAT much squat in the rear, but, I already have the onboard compressor for the train horns and air outlet for topping off tires, so I might would do it for the heck of it at some point.

Thanks for the replies. The kit for 5th wheel hitches mounts on the inside of the frame rails. Just took me awhile to find it. I get more sag then I thought I would and we have the trailer hook up a lot so I just want the extra help for the springs.

Just for a little info...I have 3 duallies with airbags on 2 of them. I won't tow heavy again without them. Love them!

Since the thread is still up. Who is running firestone and who has air ride? I was thinking air ride because I want them on the outside of the frame and they say they will work if your using the Reese universal rail kit. Firestone says theirs won't.

I use Firestone's with an onboard Viair 10007 kit to change the air pressures while traveling. Here is where mine sits and I have a B&W Turnoverball hitch in mine.

I think I might have a problem with the kit that goes on the inside of the frame rail cause I have a 5" stainless exhaust. I'm afraid there isn't enough room.

If I remember correctly, I had about 1 1/2" clearance from the heat shield to the exhaust on that side. If the exhaust follows the same bend, you may not have a problem. What year F350 is it??

I ordered the setup from Air Ride that's says it will work with universal rails. My aftermarket exhaust is almost tight to the inside of the frame rail.
They will be delivered tomorrow so I will update if they work or not.

Got the air bags on today! I forgot to take a pic before I put the tires back on.
But if anybody is wondering, the Air Lift setup does work on the outside of the frame rails if you are using the Reese universal rail kit.

No air dryer, Never worried about moisture.
My other bags on the motorhome were factory equipped 11 years ago and never had a problem with moisture in them.

Thats great, I have firestone, on my F250 2013 Kingranch. Makes world of difference. 50 psi to level my rig, or I manually drop them to 15 for around town. I just use a portable inflator when I hitch up the rig.

Just wanted to make a quick update after our first trip with the bags. This is our first truck/5er combo. Air bags should be mandatory! We tow a 16,000 pound toy hauler and if you take the time to find the sweet spot you can dial in the bags to where the truck rides like a Cadillac. Definitely worth every penny.

Good to know. This is something else I have been wanting to do for a long time. Don't really need the bags, but like you realized I'm sure it would help the ride.

I definitely agree!! I'm glad you are now a believer! (that sounds like a TV preacher doesn't it?) Like I've told countless people, I won't ever tow heavy without them again. They take the jolt out of the interstates very well too.
