Ford Up fitter switches

As a Tundra owner and as we know Toyota does not produce a deisel in a 1 ton capacity. Yes I have been waiting for them... I will then buy an american dually soon. Looking at the F-350/450 I have noticed switches on the lower part of the dash (on some models) and not wanting snow blown up my skirt I will ask here first and evaluate the dealer sales person second. So are these switches designated, or are they for the "modifaction" of the TV? Several switches to choose from? I haven't seen them labeled. If you have them and if they are for "mods" what mods did you do?

They are for accessories such as clearance lights. They are fused separately and the wires can be found under the drivers side dash near the door.

They are for your own use. Lightbars, Warning Lights, ETC ETC. Whatever you want to wire into them.

Here is a link to the Ford bulletin explaining the switches and wiring. Also explains the different amp draws. Hope it helps.

No 1 & 2 are higher amp the 3 & 4. I have my airbag compressor wired in ti 1 and LED lights mounted under the rear bumper to function as docking lights rearward when arrive at camp site at night. It's like daytime when I turn them on. Mine was OEM installed. Aftermarket kits available and full instructions on the internet. Great feature.

Switches on E450?

Does anyone know if these extra switches also come on the E450 Fords? They should be handy to have.
Thanks

I too use upfitter #1 for my onboard air compressor. The other 3 will soon be used with other accessories. They are very handy to use. They also have 4 "pass thru" wires behind the left front wheel, and under the master cylinder on the firewall, so that you don't have to run any wire through the firewall yourself. They are difficult to connect with large hands, but it can be done. Neat accessory.
