Ford Upfitter Switches

OK, I have an F250 and absolutely love it except for the small fuel tank and frankly I need a bio break every 200 miles anyway. But those upfitter switches. They look great, all lined up there on the dash. Everyone that gets in the truck is impressed until they ask me what they do. "Well, nothing" is not an acceptable response. Anyone have any good ideas, useful or not

I have used one of mine so far. Hooked it up to a power input for my back up camera on my Garmin RV 760 LMT gps. If hooked up to the back of the truck I plug the power into my back up lights. If I have my trailer hooked up then I move the camera to the rear bumper of my trailer and hook it up to another power port that I have powered by the upfitter switch. That way I can turn it on or off when I want to see the GPS or the camera.

Tell them they are the switches for the 'ejection seats.'

I like that idea, but do you also have a remote air pressure gauge? If not, how do you know when to turn it on and off?

I have the fuel pump and solenoid for my aux fuel tank on an upfitter switch so I can transfer fuel. Because I hate the 26 gal fuel tank also.

I have used all four of the upfitter switches on my F350 now. I have used them for air horns, TPMS, and additional cigarette lighter port and USB ports controlled by the ignition switch and dash camera.

I used mine for the air horns and air compressor. 1 switch used. If I flip it down, all is dead. Up and I have use of horns and air tank. Great to have.

Used several on F350 for cameras, air compressor, generator start battery, extra lights in truck bed and extra power outlet (115 volt from inverter) to bumper.

Man I love this idea. My truck came bagged with the compressor. It automatically turns on to keep the bag pressure at whatever setting is set on the in-cab controller. The compressor is loud and it was annoying to have it start up every time the truck was started, so I pulled the fuse to it.

Do you worry about forgetting it and over flowing?

Yes. And I've done it. Because I do long drives without stopping & usually only turn it on when I'm below a 1/4, I forgot once that I turned it on but it wasn't for long and it only put out a mist because the main tank cap wasn't tight.
Usually if the gauge just begins to read full, I can let it run another 10 min until it's actually full into the filler neck. My transfer pump is 5/16 hose and a 5psi pump so in theory the pump will stall once the tank is full. (As long as your cap is tight&#128529
