They all got their perks. Heck most of the vehicles I have owned were from before I was born. I do have to say the old chevy's late 70's through mid 80's were the best.

Should have driven the ones in the mid to late 50's & 60's. Raw hp. Not like the wimps of the last 25 yrs. Trucks included.

Hmm...Ford's Blue Oval. At least they circled the mistake. I'm just teasin'. I drive a Ford F350 Diesel now, had the 7.3 in my signature before my 6.0L and a bunch of Bow Tie gasser's before that and a Dodge Power Wagon wayyy back then. They all have their faults and strong points. If my Dodge didn't rot out under me I'd prolly still have it. True 4 Low Lock.

I do think this 6.7 Ford will be as good as the old 7.3's!

Without going into detail, because it would not matter, I've presented pertinent detailed data in numerous leadership case studies and university business ethics studies.
Your emotional response is baseless, but I respect your opinion to claim it as your own.

Ahhh.....guys ! God bless the USA ! And the fact we can have this conversation ! Just sayn.
I own one of each,both have a purpose,both require maintained,both over 10 yrs old,one is worked harder,and in consequence,cost more to repair.
BOTH good trucks ! If someone was buying new,and had no preconceived favorite, Chevy, stands behind is product 3x longer.
" I prefer my f 350" but, if I could buy new, this has to be the deciding factor. JMHO !

Ford Looks Hypocritical In New Anti-Bailout Commercial - Forbes
In fact, Ford chief executive Alan Mulally sat shoulder to shoulder with GM and Chrysler when they asked Congress for government help so that a collapse of the companies and their suppliers wouldn’t take down the entire industry. Now the gloves are off.
But wait a minute. OK, Ford didn’t file bankruptcy or get bailed out by Uncle Sam, but didn’t it receive $5.9 billion in low-cost government loans in 2009 to overhaul its factories and bring out more fuel-efficient technology? What would have happened to Ford if Congress hadn’t authorized taxpayer money to fund that $25 billion Energy Department program during a moment of crisis for the industry?

I have a 76 Chevy Scottsdale single cab long bed and the truck is solid. It was my grandpas truck he bought brand new in 76. Since I have put a small lift its been repainted and the engine has been rebuilt. It has less squeaks and noises than a lot of the newer trucks out there now. It will always be in the family.

One thing I would suggest, like a few others here have, is to go drive both trucks that you are concerned with. Make sure they are the same configuration when you do though. By this I mean, both with the same cab config, wheelbase and rear ends so that you can compare apples to apples so to speak. I would also try to get the interior level close in both so you can make up your mind on that front at the same time. While looking though, you might consider an F350, as around here, a 6.2L F350 is the same price as the F250. I know I just told you to compare apples to apples, but if you can get more truck for the same money, that's a no brainer! The F350 just has a little more payload capacity. It may even come down to ride quality for you. Some people like the ride quality of a Chevy while it's unloaded, but the ride of a Ford when it is loaded, working and hauling. That would be hard to determine before you buy though. I have not driven a 6.0 Chevy but I have the 6.2L Ford and was pretty impressed. It felt quite a bit stronger than my 8.1L Chevy, but it was only a 2wd single cab where as my 8.1L is a crew cab 4wd. So, try if you can to compare them as equally as you can. Take some time if that is available to you. Pick the one that you like the most and go with it. Bottom line, if you are satisfied with it, you don't have to justify it to anyone else. It's your truck! Good luck in your hunt and in your decision. Just post up a couple of pics of which ever one it is after you buy it. WE all have truck envy here!

For those who live where it snows and / or the roads are treated.. i would pick a chevy.. ford styling is always nice..but everything underneath rusts away. I had fords for 20 yrs. Now i changed to chevy and the under carraige holds up much better..

It's been a decade, but my last truck was a Ford. All our company trucks were Chevy until the 80s, when Chevy quality went out the window.
I like Fords, but hate the grilles. Looks are important, ya' know...

Great ! See it's been a while, the last I bought new was 98. Our 03 is near the last leaf sprung super duty, built ford tuff, throw a few thousand $'s at it and it becomes a 500+ hp, 150 + mph, truck tugging, mud eatn, beast.! I know off topic, sorry.

You guys can all say that but I can tell you with certianty that all 3 of them stink in the winter (when I talk winter I am talking -30). I have been around all of them (yes brand new ones)and I hate the smell of the new ones more I think then the old stuff as the smell now is really sickening but you are right they don't smoke any more and are quiet. I would much rather smell the exhaust of my John Deere diesel tractor without any exh cleaning than these new trucks.

I guess mine is Canadian equalivent, bumper to bumper to 150,000km. Truck had 98,000km when we bought it las year so I still had over 50,000km bumper to bumper left. I don't think any other manufacturer offers extended warranty like Ford does.
