Forest River 5th to Gooseneck Warranty

I would like to convert my 386XLR12 to a goose neck type hitch. The manual says you have to get written permission to do this. Has this changed since Lippert seems to be supporting the concept? I am not trying to save money I'm just tired of removing and installing my 25K rated hitch that weighs close to a hundred pounds. I've seen adapters that leave you with a 35 pound unit to remove from the truck.

I put my Reese Goose Box song I called Forest River and they said that they have absolutely no problem with that setup.
