Even though I have a 5er now, I used a front hitch for a boat and tt. I have a home made front hitch on my truck and use it to move my boat into/out of storage. You just look down the driver side for alignment, and when you are pushing, I found that you don't need to move the vehicle as much for trailer adjustment as you would from the back.
I have a western v-plow set up on mine so with the plow weighing in around 800+lbs, it's actually less weight that the boat. Thus the home made, as it goes into the brackets that hole the plow.
Before this truck, I had a 1975 Dodge with a plow and I took an old plow a-frame, put a ball on the end to front move stuff around. And with that old setup was that I could raise and lower it from the comfort of home😄

weight wise , ghd 1500 can handle it, because you will not be cruising down the highway. Just make sure you have a guide to help.
