Fun at the scales...

Had a chance to drop in at our local transfer station and hit the scales....
My truck is 5500lbs with just me from many previous trips.
pull just the truck with the WDH hooked up...6100lbs
pull the trailer on up....right at 10,000lbs
pull the truck off and get just the trailer weight....8900lbs??????WT????

look behind me and see a old dodge pickup pulled up behind me on the scale.....

OCW does not stop at nor is not required to stop a scales. Seems to make their day more productive as far as catching the scofflaws...

This is the county landfill transfer station, and big sign says stop before, easy on and stop, only one vehicle at a time.

Now that's funny!
Sort of like the "old toe on the scale when she isn't looking" trick!
Which by the way I would not recommend! You might get the scale upside your head if caught!

Did you ever get a good weight on it?

No ,not just the trailer...but 10,000 (total)-5500 (empty truck)= 4500
that's a stocked trailer besides clothes and empty fridge and water tanks. 2 full propane tanks, battery WDH...and tongue weight of 600lbs.
TW I'm good to 1000lbs
Max trailer weight 7600 lbs
Combined max is 13000 lbs
I'm only over on my cargo weight...im rated for 1250, 450 for passengers and 600 TW don't leave much....

I did that at the DW's doctor's office for her last visit. The nurse and my wife looked at the scales in disbelief when they read 215#. Didn't know I could push down 60# with just my toe. Probably not doing it again...just saying... Now she makes me stand so she can see me when she gets on the scales; actually she makes me stand where she can see me a lot now days.

Does that say something about Dodge drivers?
