I had just been reading a Tundra thread, before I posted to this one. Had Tundra on the brain when I started typing.
Kinda thought that.

I tow a crusader lite 30bh (2018) ,tow it with my 2018 3.5 f150 ,only upgrade are Bilsteins and air bags. Last year was my first season with a 5er before I had a bumper pull. I have zero issues pulling and stopping with my truck my trailer brakes work great. I feel safer towing the 5er then I did towing my BP. Zero clearance issues , only thing I an working on is bed rail clearance vs level trailer. I have a family and if I did not feel safe I would not put then in the vehicle

I have a 2010 Flagstaff 8528RLWS 5th wheel. Gross 9187, dry 6830, pin 1187. Pulling it with 2019 F150 Lariat super crew cab with 3.5 eco-boost, 3.73 gears, 10 speed trans, heavy duty payload package and max trailer tow package, 11,400 towing capacity and 2428 payload capacity. Trailer tows and stops great with this truck. No issues. Previously towed for 7 or 8 years with a 2010 F150 XLT super crew cab. Both trucks were factory order as I wanted the heavy duty payload package, max trailer tow package and trailer mirrors (stock mirrors or add ons are useless). It was well worth the wait and no regrets with either truck. You will probably have to order as this configuration is rare.

Supposedly Dodge has addressed that in the 2019 lineup.
Can't tell you how many crewcab Rams I saw with payloads under 1000lbs, when i shopped for a used truck for 3 years. Way more than any of the other brands.

Ford has had the highest payloads, for a number of years, in the F150. That's why they're talking so much about the F150. And is why I ended up buying one.
my new 2019 Ram 1500 Quad ... Maximum Payload 1,900 lbs *
Maximum Towing 11,610 lbs *
GVWR 6,900 lbs
Maximum allowable weight that the vehicle can carry: the vehicle’s curb weight and the total payload (driver and passengers, cargo, options and tongue weight.)
GCWR 17,000 lbs

Lightbulb 5er with 1/2 ton

This post is not to get anyone upset just my opinion. I have towed all sizes of campers from pop ups to TT and I love towing my 5er
I used my 1500 chevy 4x4 Z71 it towed my 5er great. On the way home one day my wife was driving and made a quick lane change we started to loose the trailer and it was not a good feeling. We got the swaying stopped and went on our way. I became concerned about what if we crashed that day and I started to check things out to see legally where we stood I had firestone air bags and the truck was set up to handle the weight so I thought. We scaled the units several times and tried everything to get legal weight on the rear end and could never move enough weight to get the rear axle legal over by 600lbs +or- . when I talked to my dealer all was good they said. I have friends who work for the DOT and was told that I could be libel if we had a wreck and my insurance could leave me holding the bag. So what I feel is that my 1500 pulled my 5er great and we enjoyed it but I said goodbye and stepped up to 2500 now and not looking back. You choose to tow with a 1/2 ton be safe and just because they say the truck will tow it does not mean it should. (for the people who order a 1/2 ton truck that is like a 1 ton its not the same thing). Be safe all

Even though most believe it’s impossible, A fifth wheel can and will sway under the right set of circumstances.

Here's another lengthy thread on 5th wheel sway. Hope it helps.
