Someone said it if you towed with both you know the difference and i have and have chosen diesel. If you can afford the up front cost, over the life of the truck your no more in debt then a gasser. Considering gas prices, maintenance, and additional trade in value you get with a diesel. Every time this is brought up people compare totally different starting points. Do you need a diesel to pull 5000 pounds not really. I pull 12000 and have both and diesel wins by far. My opinion and experience that i am happy with. Will i buy another diesel, yes if I plan to tow the same weight or more then i have now.

Actually you would save $1,648. At least that's what I'd save based on my last gasser vs my current diesel and reg @3.71 and diesel at 3.95 where I live. I get 11.5 vs 9.5. Also when I trade in or sell I get the cost of the diesel back or at least a percentage of it. It's not like you spend $7-10,000 on the diesel option and then when you trade in or sell you get none of that back.
FWIW I'd never buy a diesel to tow a TT that could be towed by a gasser just fine either. But there comes a time when a diesel is the better option. For me since I live in Oregon and tow 9000lbs I find the diesel to perform better and deliver better mpg. I could really give a rats ***** if it pays for it's self. I didn't buy mine for that reason. I bought it to tow 9000lbs in the mtn.

Guess you told him, eh?

Seriously, tho, until I felt the difference in the diesel, I never understood what all the fuss was about....I'll never own another gasser as long as I'm pulling

Gas or Diesel, just make sure you enjoy both the journey as well as the destination! I just like driving my 6.7 turbo more than I did my 5.4 gasser

Bull crap. Like I said, if you want me to have a diesel, buy it for me, otherwise I will continue with what I have. IF I wanted a diesel, I'd get one, I DON'T WANT ONE regardless of what you or anyone else says or how you justify it.

you Never answered my question.

How can you comment on something you've never experienced?

How can you put down a diesel you've never owned?

"How would you know"?
BTW I checked my oil last night.
8000 miles since last changed and the dipstick reads full.
That's with 120,000 clicks on the odo.

I better trade it for a gasser man that things a oil burner.

No need to answer, I've never been gunshot either, but I can dern sure comment that I don't want too be either. I flat just don't want a diesel or a new truck. Same as skydiving, never did it and don't want to try it. You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine.

Go back to sleep!
