Gen-Y Hitches now makes a torsion hitch with WD bracket already on it. They just got the first batch fabricated. Mine should ship next week. Here is a CAD image of the hitch.

I asked them months ago about doing that. Got no response. I`ll email them and ask if I can buy the WD part and take the pintle plate head off. Save a lot on weight.

My understanding is this one clocks in at about 80 pounds...and I thought that was heavy....

That's just the geny hitch without the weight distribution head so with the head you will probably be in the 125 to 135 range . Just guessing on that.
Shipping weight on my pintle plate hitch was 60, my adapter I made was 32. Rest was bolts , handle and the equalizer head.

Golly day.... I was assuming it was in the same weight range as an air safe hitch... I guess these dudes are really well made!

Very well built and a lot less money than a air hitch. Easy maintenance as well. Just 2 grease zerks. My handle I built serves two purposes . handle to carry of course and also run my trailer cord threw it. Keeps it up on top and out of the hitches way.

Just got an email from Gen-y.... My hitch weighs in at a approximate 70 pounds. Seems very manageable.

Mine is the 2 inch receiver version...that might explain some of the difference in weight...

Mine is the 2 inch one as well. I use my receiver reducer. So your should be around 110 pounds depending on what WD head your using. If mine had a 60lbs ship weight , then I added 32 lbs adapter . Yours is 70lbs shipped, So I subtracted 20 lbs off my total weight to get 110 to 111 pounds.

Oh got it, your weight included the WD head. I will be using a Blue Ox Sway Pro and attaching its 57 pound head to the 70 pound torsion flex hitch so I will end up close to 130 pounds...

I will...one item I noted. The GEN-Y Torsion Flex Shank is 70 pounds. The Blue OX shank that it replaces is 25 pounds. So the Torsion Flex should add about 45 pounds to the overall hitch assembly weight.
