Getting new to me Truck!
After totaling my Sabre and causing over $10K in damage to my F250, I'm taking insurance money and running back to GM!! Hope to pick up my new to me 2006 GMC 3500 SLT 4x4 DRW. So now that I have a 1T drw, all of you with out duallys are completely unsafe and should be ashamed of yourselves... Pics to follow after I pick it up!
Hope to replace the camper early summer, so plenty to look forward to!
Happy Campin!

I know, you don't want suggestions from someone so reckless as to tow with a SRW 3500 but you could have told her with the KW she could have had a sleeper in the truck too. Seriously though congrats on the dually. Is it already fifth wheel prepped? Any thoughts on what you want for a new fiver?

The KW would have given you the opportunity to "sleep on the couch" when you had a little argument. His bed, her bed.........hmmmmmm got myself thinking now!

By the way, if that's an 06 with the LBZ you will LOVE it! If it's an LLY still a good engine.

LBZ!! Thats what I was after. I had a hard time finding one clean and not high miles. Really looking forward to it. The last diesel I owned was a pre-powerstroke 7.3 with a banks turbo added on it. Great truck, but thousand dollared me to death..
As far as camper we loved our Sabre and will more than likely, stay with that line. Not sure which bunkhouse model we'll end up with though. I'm interested in the new midship bunkhouse model, but not sure how we'd do with out the outside kitchen...?

I really like that midship bunk, kinda wished I'd seen it before getting our 34REQS although we do love the 34REQS.

Awesome looking truck jt!! That is a great year and great settup. And i agree, it is hard to find clean, low mileage dmaxs. Im feeling pretty good about only having 128k on my '05 dmax. (And its been a great truck)
Im hoping to get a dually in the future, but bought the Dw a new tahoe last weekend, so it will probably be a while.
Good luck camper shopping! Should be easy for you though, if your like me, you just get what Momma wants!!

MillerTime, I realize their different motors, or at least programmed different, but what kind of mileage do you get empty and towing?

They ain't too different. 06 has bigger cooling fan and yes a different program and the 6 speed, where i have the 5 speed....you have a 2nd overdrive gear in yours.
Now granted i have leveled my front and then lifted the rear about 3.5" and stuck some 18"wheels with 34.5" tires on soooo... empty and adjusted for my tire difference i get about 13.5 and the couple times i towed my 36qbok i got 9-10 mpg.
Now when i throw my stock wheels and tires on (245/75/16) believe it or not empty i can get 18mpg if i keep my foot out of it. (Stock tires and wheels are 35lb lighter per wheel tire than my bigger ones) And i put my little tires on when i brought the camper home in Nov. And i think my tow mileage was about the same, about 9.8-10mpg but i was also going into 20-30+mph winds.
I run all stock everything except exhaust, because it was on there when i got it 7 years ago. But ac delco air, fuel, spin on tranny etc.

Heres a couple pics. I know not a real practical tow setup with bigger tires, but when i did it, i still had my International semi that i hauled heavy stuff with, and we didn't have a camper then.
