GM 1500 Trans Temp Gauge

My TV is an 04 Suburban 1500. There is a blank spot for the trans temp (the 2500 has the gauge). I know there are companies either selling the cluster or adding the gauge, but I was curious if any of you have added a trans temp gauge without dishing out $300.

Yes the 1500 has the sensor/wiring...just no gauge.

Funny story. I ended up buying the scan gauge while on the road...just before climbing some mountains in New Mexico. I couldn't figure out how to get the trans temp option and gave up. My wife grabbed it, and with the help of Google and her gray matter we had it going just before the ascent! I was worried for nothing as the temp never rose above 180.

Keep it handy for climbing mountains in the summer. Or going anywhere when it is 100 degrees. Also program in the water temp.
