Be sure to top off the trans fluid when changing this spin filter as the spin filter is full of fluid when removed. Not much, but.
Ok thanks. I will ask for that at my next oil change, which is coming up soon.

The Chevy dealer said the same thing when i was in Marianna, Florida doing some scuba caving diving with my chevy truck. Ford Didn't give me any free oil changes but I guess they don't have to get some to by their trucks :roflb lack:

I just did my last one at 20%. I had to take a day off to get our 5th wheel serviced, so I killed two stones with one bird and got the diesel oil changed as well.

Thanks for all the replies....

So it looks like the answer is that it depends on the Dealer!

Says a lot if I want to do business with this dealer in the future too.. If they turn me away cuz it's not below 15% I'll think about that when I'm in the market for the next truck!

My dealer said to bring it in at 20%. I said I change at 50% or 5000 miles, whichever comes first, especially after towing threw hills and mountains.

Im gonna find out soon. I want my first, break-in oil change done on my new GMC Duramax before i get over 2500 miles, maybe even before....even if i have to pay for it myself.
We'll see, i got a few friends at dealers though, that will help!

My last two free oil were at changes were at 22-24% because I had 2,500 mile trips ahead of me with no time to stop along the way. It was no problem.

Cool!
Honestly the maintenance plan deal is nice.....but for what i payed for the truck, it would be silly to worry about a $60-100 oil change or 4 of them. But I'll gladly take them!!!

Services every 5000 miles for 20,000 miles is only 4 services not 5.

My agreement with GM stated that they would perform all schedule service for the first two years or 24,000 miles which ever comes first.
My CTS and my 2500HD Diesel had schedule services by the manual at 7500 – 15,000 and 22,500 so that not 4 services but only 3 services
The dealer can do what he wants and give free ones. I purchase new car even 3 years and I have switching between the CTS and Corvette and the dealer has given me free oil changes for the last 15 years.

You'd be right. I meant 24,000.. Typo. Dealer tells me they only need to do 4, but they do 5 for the 25,000 miles.

While it isn't all that much $$, I get free oil/oil filter for life on my TV. Also, got the same on my Subaru. Since I keep my vehicles 10 years or more it isn't a bad deal, but I do hate the wait at the dealer when I can do it myself in 15 minutes.

That is why Ford and Ram out sells Chevy in the Hd Truck market. More for the buck I can't stop laughing at that comment. Your should are really funny... You got to be kidding me... I owned Chevy truck at it is ]junk but the CTS and the Corvette is one hell of car but truck it junk.

There is no restriction on % left for oil change.....one gets 4 oil changes in the two years. Just had mine done (after 5500 miles) with 40% still showing on the driver info center.

I have had mine, on my 2015, changed twice. Both times while visiting and camping in Moab (Chevy dealer service guy is a friend). Both time it was over 40% and GM paid for the service and filter. (I brought my own synthetic oil.)
My understanding per the dealer I purchased the vehicle from in ID and Moab Chevy is you are allowed x-number per year, with no notation of miles or percentage.

Dealer did the oil change @ 25% with no questions...

Made an appointment for 09:00 where the polite advisor said it shouldn't take more than 1/2 hour. Before I could give my name she already had my truck's info in front of her... Impressive system is tied into the name display on the phone...

However.... when I dropped in the dealer who claims to be Alberta's largest GM Dealer does not have a hoist in the lube section capable for a dually so the 1/2 hour express lube was a 2 hour wait in the lounge with no complimentary coffee...
