GM 2 year free maintenence...
Does anyone know what percentage (or lower) the Oil Life Monitor must be at before the GM dealer will do an oil change under the 2 year free maintenance promotion?
I could understand if I showed up for a freebe when the OLM still says 75% I would be refused but what is the number?

I don't think it really matters. I have a 2015 Chevy 2500 I take mine in at 5000 miles no matter what the oil life monitors says and they change it no questions ask. Also I have a volt and I had about 75% left but the oil was a year old so they changed it and never batted an eye. Of course it may depend on your dealer. Later RJD

Our CTS is 10% but you can tell them you taking a trip and they will make a exception. My wife was just turned down at 14%.

My service manager told me that I get 4 services within 2 years or 24k. He said however you want to space it out so that you get all 4 doesn't matter.

Work at gm garage. We don't care what mileage is, Customer gets 4 free oil changes in 2 yrs. We could do all 4 in a week if you like. Lol

I got the same instruction as atcbrownie. 4 services. BTW I was told Fuel Filter and Transmission spin filters were not free under the 2 year freeby plan. I do my own spin filter. It takes 10min and cost about $20, GMC dealer charges $130. The Fuel Filter is $200 or so.

No specific number. 2 years or 24000 miles. You can do them all in one year if you want. I have one left on my truck and am at 20000 miles and 13 months. If you have a diesel make sure they top off the DEF tank. It is free for 24 months.

It all depends on how well your service center wants to work with you. Had two different dealers tell me they would not do it until it was at 20% or less.

We charge 74.99 for oil change on duramax. And 79.99 for fuel filter.

Got to watch those Chevy service centers. I mark my tires with chalk to make sure they rotated and two different Chevy service centers did not rotate them with the free service. One service tech said that has never rotate tires on oil change and he had work there for years.

Guess you got a bunch of bad dealers in KS . My tires are rotated every oil changes as I have checked by marking tire. Later RJD

Quick internet search seems like more than my state not the only state have problems with services not being preformed ...

This is what I was told as well.
Now not to sound dumb but what is a spin filter? I know about the fuel filter but not the spin filter.

your Allison transmission has an external filter for trans fluid on it, similar to your oil filter only smaller. Located on the bottom, outside of the tranny. This "spin filter" should be changed at the same time you change your oil in your Dmax.
Be sure to top off the trans fluid when changing this spin filter as the spin filter is full of fluid when removed. Not much, but.
