WOW the person who said this needs to do some reading, as there is a big difference between 2500 and 3500 trucks, yes the payload but is so much more, Rear axel, transmission gearing, cooling, alternators, battery's and so much more.
Stepping up to a 3500 is a big jump and a much needed jump if you are going to be towing a 5er, so if this is what your intentions are I would highly recommend the 3500 no matter the brand.
P.S. my next and needed truck will be a gmc 3500 8 ft bed dually

Is the 3500 going to be to tall for my Rockwood fifth wheel? It sits perfect on my half ton.

People have different requirements for a TV. I bought the 3/4 ton for several reasons and I still have more towing cap than most with there 1/2 tons. I owned dualls for years and they served me well. Most folks do not need unless you think its a prestige thing.
You can adjust the hitch height when installing in the 1 ton dually. Later RJD

just because it's a 1 ton, it doesn't mean it's a dually. Mine isn't, and the payload is 1600 lbs more than a comparible 3/4 ton.

Did it, 2015 GMC Denali 3500 Duramax SRW. Can't wait to tow with it. Have to wait a week before I can get the hitch swapped to it.

Our heartland Big Country sits perfectly level when hooked to our 3500. After our trip to Alaska last summer I do not regret getting it. We had a Q20 manual slider hitch installed in our truck bed but after 20,000 miles we have never had to slide it back.

Trying to get some miles before towing. No need for a slider its an 8 foot bed. Don't like towing with a shortie.

That was the hardest 500 miles ever for me. I drove my truck everywhere I could think of and took a couple of cruises. Enjoy the beautiful truck..... oh and I'm jealous as I wanted a black one but the white one was the only '14 leftover with what I wanted/needed in a 500 mile radius.
